Dr. Daniel Coit Presents 2019 Donald Blechman Lecture in Surgical Oncology

Daniel G. Coit, MD, Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, presented the eighth annual 2019 Donald Blechman Lecture in Surgical Oncology on September 25, 2019. His lecture was titled, “The Evolving Understanding of Regional Lymph Nodes in Surgical Oncology.”

 

Renowned Breast Cancer Surgeon to Join Department

Dr. Norman Wolmark

 

Norman Wolmark, MD, a prominent surgeon and cancer researcher, will be joining the department as Professor of Surgery in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. In addition, he will serve in a new position at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center as Director of National Cancer Institute Cooperative Group Clinical Trials. He will retain his role as Chairman of the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project and as contact principal investigator of NRG Oncology.

Surgical Oncology Faculty and UPMC Team up with Colon Cancer Alliance at 8th Annual Cookies4Chris Charity Event

 

The eighth annual Cookies4Chris Luncheon and Vendor Show was held on Sunday, April 8th, 2018 at the South Hills Country Club. The event was born to honor Chris Sapienza, a Pittsburgh native who passed away from the disease and who loved both cookies and baking. Cookies4Chris raises funds towards the fight against colon cancer and strives to put a face on a disease that may be uncomfortable to discuss.
