Presenter: Elizabeth Pace (advisor: Drs. Michael Morowitz and Stefan Scholtz)
Dr. Pace will first share some updates regarding current and upcoming randomized clinical trials, including the NICU Antibiotics and Outcomes (NANO) Trial and the Post-operative Antibiotics for Infants with Necrotizing Enterocolitis (PAINTER) Trial revolving around antibiotic use in Neonatal Intensive Care Units. She will then discuss antibiotics in the setting of complicated appendicitis and several projects with the Eastern Pediatric Surgery Network (EPSN) including a large retrospective cohort study and operative report review by the EPSN research consortium led by Boston Children's Hospital.
