cGAS is Critical in Maintaining the Crosstalk Between Cell Death and Autophagy during Intestinal Inflammation

Date

July 28, 2020 - 9:00am

Event Description

Presenter: Sidrah Khan

Dr. Khan will first provide a background of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). She will then discuss the role of cGAS (cycline GMP-AMP synthase) in inflammation and cell death in the context of the biological mechanisms of autophagy and mitophagy in IBD. She will then present early findings of the role of downstream signaling effector stimulator of interferon genes (STING) in her evolving paradigm of the biology of IBD.
