"Cost-Effectiveness of VTE Prophylaxis after Discharge in Trauma Patients, and Other Assorted Topics"
Presenter: Drs. Kia Nicholson (mentor: Dr. Matthew Rosengart
Post-discharge VTE prophylaxis has been shown to be useful and cost-effective after both cancer and orthopedic surgery. In this analysis, the cost-utility of post-discharge VTE prophylaxis is explored in trauma patients, given the high risk of VTE after trauma. Current projects with the international COVIDSurg collaborative, as well as a single-surgeon experience with telerounding on inpatient colorectal surgery patients will be discussed.
