Title: "The role of the AIM2 Inflammasome in Detering Myogenic Potential of Muscle Satellite Cells in PAD and the Effects of SARS-related Proteins on Potentiating Myopathy"
These projects aimed to evaluate the role of the AIM2 as a mediate of damage of PAD-affected muscle satellite cells and whether it may serve as a potential target to reduce PAD-associated myopathy. We also aimed to explore the the interaction and effects of SARS-related proteins on myoblasts in PAD patients during the COVID-19 pandemic and evaluate the effects of the associated hypercoagulable state on limb loss rates.

Title: "Wearable Monitoring Devices in Patients with Lower Extremity Bypasses: Improving patency rates and clinical outcomes"
Wearable technology has been a proven adjunct in the field of cardiology in monitoring arrhythmias and early detection of cardiac pathology. The aim of this talk is to make a case for the development of monitoring devices in vascular surgery. While there are multiple use cases including carotid disease, dialysis access maintenance and aortic aneurysm disease, there exists a specific clinical need amongst patients with peripheral vascular disease (PVD) and lower extremity bypasses.
