Hemostatic Resuscitation in Pediatric Trauma

Date

September 2, 2021 - 8:30am

Event Description

Presenter: Dr. Christine Leeper

Trauma is the leading cause of death for children in the US. Children’s coagulation and physiologic responses to injury vary unequivocally from that of adults, yet little pediatric-specific data exists to guide clinicians in the optimal care of injured children. Dr. Leeper’s research interests include trauma-induced coagulopathy and resuscitation practice in pediatric trauma, with the goal of making pediatric hemostatic resuscitation more effective and efficient, and improving trauma care and outcomes for injured children.
