Patterns of Interhospital Transfer in Emergency General Surgery

Interhospital transfers are common for patients with emergency general surgery (EGS) conditions. However, our understanding of the epidemiology of the EGS transfer system is fragmented. Dr. Teng's group's objective is to characterize patterns of interhospital transfer for patients with EGS conditions to identify opportunities to optimize the EGS transfer system to guide improvements in care delivery and patient outcomes.
