Promoting Immune Tolerance through Regulatory Dendritic Cell (DCreg) Infusion in Living Donor Liver Transplantation
Presenter: Cindy Teng (Advisors: Drs. Matthew Rosengart / Jeremy Kahn)
Dr. Tran will discuss their preliminary data for a human phase I/II clinical trial of donor-derived regulatory dendritic cell (DCregs) infusion in living donor liver transplantation (LDLTx). She will report some flow cytometry data and additional preliminary single cell RNA sequencing analysis of liver biopsy specimens obtained at the time of transplant from patients enrolled in this study.
Failure to Rescue in Emergency General Surgery
Lillian Tran (Advisor: Dr. Angus Thomson)
Failure to rescue (FTR), or death after a major complication, is a primary determinant of surgical quality of care that is potentially modifiable with systems- and team-based interventions. Through organizational behavior and social network analysis, Dr. Teng and her team aim to examine macrosystem and microsystem factors contributing to FTR in emergency general surgery in order to develop interventions to improve patient outcomes.
