From Provider to Patient: Research Approaches to Improving the Surgery Ecosystem

In this swansong from Dr. Myers before her return to clinical responsibilities, she will present highlights from her research during the last three years and introduce new projects that she is beginning to pursue. In the first part of her talk, she will discuss her sociologic inquiries into surgical culture. In the second half, she revisits her investigations pertaining to coagulopathy and provides an update on her progress toward creating a novel risk stratification system for venous thromboembolism.
