The Department of Surgery recently hosted our Annual Research Day alongside the Richard L. Simmons Lecture in Surgical Science. The event featured an exceptional presentation by Dr. Carla Pugh, Thomas Krummel Professor of Surgery at Stanford University, who highlighted the use of wearable technology to evaluate surgeon performance.
The day also showcased an impressive lineup of scholarship, including 10 outstanding oral presentations and numerous posters from across the department. We are pleased to recognize the following award recipients:
- Best Oral Presentation: Anthony Gebran
- Runner-Up Oral Presentations: Sridula Kallakuri and Lindsey Olivere
- Best Poster Awards: Adam Tcharni, Ander Dorken, Evelyn Truong, and Sebastian Ceuppens
- Special Award for Research in Education: Faith Kehinde
- Special Award for Research and Inclusive Excellence: Sneha Padamati
