Congratulations to our following faculty members who received new research awards:
- Matthew D. Neal, MD, FACS and Melanie J. Scott, MD, PhD recently received supplements to their National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants to purchase large research equipment for their respective projects, “Mechanistic Elucidation and Targeted Therapy of Platelet Dysfunction After Trauma” and “Inflammasome Activation in Trauma-Hemorrhagic Shock.”
- Juan C. Puyana, MD was awarded a new NIH R21 grant – “The Injury Support Initiative for Guatemala Trauma (INSIGHT)” project.
- Efthymios D. Avgerinos, MD, PhD, MSc received funding from the American Venous Forum Foundation for his SUNSET trial (“Standard vs. UltrasouNd-assiSted CathEter Thrombolysis for Submassive Pulmonary Embolism”).
