The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (UPSOM) is excited to introduce a new scholarship program for the children of full-time faculty and staff members employed by the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for the Health Sciences (SVCHS) and the School of Medicine division under SVCHS. Eligible applicants can receive a 50% tuition scholarship towards their first professional medical degree or a master’s degree at UPSOM, starting from the 2024-25 academic year. The program is open to those already accepted or enrolled full-time in their chosen School of Medicine program, with no age restrictions. To maintain the scholarship, students must remain in good academic standing and reapply annually before July 1. Faculty members are eligible from the first semester following their date of hire. For staff, children become eligible for the tuition discount once the staff member completes their provisional period by September 1 for the fall term, January 1 for the spring term, or May 1 for the summer term. Children of volunteer-affiliated faculty are not eligible. For more details on eligibility, MD students can contact Cynthia Bonetti at cbonetti@medschool.pitt.edu, and graduate program inquiries can be directed to Lauren Zielinski at lez26@pitt.edu.
