On Saturday Feb. 19, 2022, UPMC will host the 2022 Pancreatic Cancer Symposium, a virtual event featuring a range of discussions about the latest advancements in pancreatic cancer diagnosis and treatment presented by UPMC faculty and guest speakers.
This CME accredited event will feature keynote presentations by:
- Eileen O’Reilly, MD, the Winthrop Rockefeller Endowed Chair in Medical Oncology, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, who will discuss “Resectable Pancreatic Cancer: Neoadjuvant versus Adjuvant”
- Steven Gallinger, MD, MSc, FRCS, Professor of General Surgery, University of Toronto, who will discuss “Molecular Subtypes of Pancreas Cancer: Implications for Treatment and Prognosis”
- Anne-Marie Duliege, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, who will discuss “Innovations in Pancreatic Cancer Research: The Perspective of PanCAN”
Other presentations will cover topics such as diagnosis and staging of pancreatic cancer, endoscopic interventions, early detection, palliative therapy, the role of radiation, updates on surgical techniques including robotics, and the role of multimodality therapy in improving survival.
