Congratulations to our Research Administration and Finance office, who received the University of Pittsburgh’s Sustainability Green Office “Sustainable Oak” designation in January 2024.
“Sustainable Oak” is the highest of four Pitt Green Office designation levels offices can pursue to help the University achieve its Sustainability Plan. Participating offices earn points by evaluating their current practices & reporting the sustainable actions and activities they engage in to “green” their work environment. Each sustainable practice is assigned a point value based on its impact, ease, and cost of implementation, focusing on the areas of energy, transportation, purchasing, waste, printing, food, and culture of sustainability.
Our Research Administration and Finance office received recognition of their “Sustainable Oak” status with a plaque/certificate, on the Pitt Sustainability Website, and at the next Pitt Sustainability Symposium.
