The innovation project “Transplants for Kids” won a $25,000 award in the 2020 Pitt Innovation Challenge (PInCh). The project is a software decision support solution that matches specific pediatric organ donor and recipient characteristics in real-time, saving time and reducing the deaths of children waiting for an organ transplant. The project team includes faculty members George Mazariegos, MD, and Kyle Soltys, MD.
