Congratulations to David A. Geller, MD, who will assume the position of President of the International Laparoscopic Liver Society (ILLS) in June 2021 for a two-year term. The society was launched in 2016 with Dr. Geller as one of its co-creators. ILLS organizes a biennial congress dedicated to laparoscopic liver surgery, coordinates international registries, provides a forum to support collaboration between surgeons interested in the advancement of laparoscopic liver resection techniques, and helps in the education of surgeons wishing to learn these techniques.
Dr. Geller will serve as Chair for the ILLS 2021 3rd World Congress, which will be held virtually from June 12-12, 2021. He will present the Congress’ welcome address, as well as the lecture, “Life and Times of Thomas E. Starzl, MD, PhD.”
