This year marks the 23rd Anniversary of the Richard L. Simmons Lecture in Surgical Science. Join us in celebrating the past year's research achievements in the Department of Surgery. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Anita Courcoulas from the Department of Surgery, has been with the University of Pittsburgh since 1988 after graduating from Boston University. Dr. Courcoulas is recognized as the nation's leading expert on the outcomes of surgical weight loss procedures. Don't miss this celebration!
We are planning an in-person event at the Petersen Event Center-Campus View Club. Virtual participation will be available for the keynote presentation and oral abstract presentations, although in-person attendance is highly encouraged. E-poster presentations will be in-person only to facilitate greater interaction with our trainees. Please encourage your research teams to submit abstracts!
Refer to the attached flyer for format and submission guidelines. The top 10 scored abstracts will be invited for a 10-minute oral presentation, while the remaining abstracts will be considered for moderated e-poster presentations. Awards and cash prizes will be given to the top oral and e-poster presentations.
