Dr. Walter E. Rizzoni has been with UPMC Hamot since 2007 and is Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery. His practice encompasses open vascular and endovascular surgery, as well as adult cardiac and thoracic surgery. He earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and trained in general surgery at Boston University Hospitals and at Loma Linda University Hospital. He has completed fellowships in surgical oncology at the National Cancer Institute, in vascular surgery at the Carolinas Medical Center, and in cardiothoracic surgery also at the Carolinas Medical Center. He holds board certification in both vascular and cardiothoracic surgery.
