Residents can take part in a Quality Improvement (QI) curriculum in combination with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) to improve their knowledge of heath care safety and QI processes. The curriculum is self-directed learning via web-based modules with supplemental lectures and discussions. Participating residents complete a total of 13 courses over two years, culminating in a QI project with a faculty mentor. Upon completion of the IHI curriculum, residents receive a certificate that is nationally recognized and can be added to their CVs.
