In the current day and age of rendering medical care more efficient, understanding sources of variability combined with a proactive and innovative approach to reducing such variability have the greatest likelihood of effecting durable change. Dr. Deeb will detail the risks of undertriage and factors associated with a ‘pit stop’, measures to better identify those patients that should not be at a pit stop, and discuss the utility of aeromedical transport overtriage (OT) and the implications of such overtriage and utilization.
