David L. Bartlett, MD began his term as President of the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) last month at SSO 2019, the 72nd SSO Annual Cancer Symposium. An internationally recognized pioneer in hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemoperfusion (HIPEC) for complex abdominal cancers, Dr. Bartlett’s research centers on the use of oncolytic viruses to simulate immune function.
On Saturday, April 6th, Surgical Oncologist Steven Evans, MD and members from UPMC Marketing organized a booth representing UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at the Pittsburgh Black Nurses in Action, Inc. Community Health Fair/10th Annual Wellness Day Party at the Kingsley Association. Dr. Bartlett presented lectures on the topics of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) and the specialty of complex general surgical oncology in the USA.
