After an exceptional 16 years with our department, Herbert J. Zeh III, MD, FACS will be leaving at the end of March 2018 to join the faculty at University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center Hall as Mary Lucile Shannon Distinguished Chair in Surgery. A Farewell Reception was held on March 1, 2018 at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center to honor Dr. Zeh’s outstanding accomplishments in research and medicine since joining our faculty in 2002. Congratulations to our following doctors and advanced practice providers who made UPMC’s Fiscal Year 2017 Excellence in Patient Experience, Physician and Medical Staff Honor Roll. This annual award is given to providers with at least 10 survey responses who consistently achieve a 9-10 rating in the “Rate provider” domain on Press Ganey’s Clinician and Group Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CGCAHPS) survey. This survey measures patients’ perceptions of care delivered by providers in an office setting.

On October 10, 2017 Steven Evans, MD was honored at an Allegheny County Council Proclamation at the Allegheny County Courthouse for his participation in the 2017 Real Man Wear Pink Campaign, an effort by the American Cancer Society to battle breast cancer. So far, Dr. Evans’ team has raised over $3,000 for the campaign.
