At the 2022 Pittsburgh Steelers Breast Cancer Awareness Game, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center oncologists participated in a halftime catching contest. Each participant had 20 seconds to catch as many footballs as they can from Steelers Legend, Charlie Batch. Dr. Michael Cowher won with the most points and UPMC received a $10,000 check donation to breast cancer research.

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, in partnership with P3R, announced their inaugural “Rush to Crush Cancer,” a new fundraising biking event to accelerate the pace of discovery and innovation in cancer research. The event’s goal is to bring people together to pedal, partner, and participate in raising vital funds to support cancer research and someday soon "crush" cancer.
