Congratulations to Steven Evans, MD, whose appointment as alternate delegate for the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) House of Delegates (HOD) has been upgraded to full delegate to the PAMED Virtual HOD in 2020, currently scheduled October 23-25, 2020. Serving as a delegate at the HOD helps PAMED develop meaningful policy that benefits Pennsylvania physicians and patients. Each year, delegates and alternate delegates are selected by their county medical societies and medical specialty societies.

During the current era of COVID-19 and social distancing, our Grand Rounds lecture series has adapted by temporarily transitioning to a virtual format. On April 8, 2020, we hosted our first virtual lecture via Microsoft Teams, the Master Surgeon Lecture “Peritoneal Surgery: The Evolution of a New Surgical Subspecialty” presented by David L. Bartlett, MD.
