Congratulations to Anita P. Courcoulas, MD, MPH, FACS and Donald Keenan, MD, PhD, who won both won 2019 UPMC Excellence in Patient Experience Awards in recognition of their patients rating them as “Top UPMC providers by Specialty.” Dr. Keenan was recognized in his specialty of breast health and Dr. Courcoulas was recognized for general surgery.

Congratulations to Giselle G. Hamad, MD, FACS, FASMBS and Amer H. Zureikat, MD, FACS, who were both appointed to named professorships in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine effective February 1, 2020. Dr. Hamad was appointed to the Charles Gray Watson Professorship in Surgical Education and Dr. Zureikat was appointed to the UPMC Professorship in Clinical Surgery.

Harrison, MD Chair in Surgery; and Matthew Randall Rosengart, MD, MPH, Vice Chair of Academic Training, who was appointed Watson Family Chair in Surgery. Both appointments in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine became effective December 1, 2019.
