The award recognizes faculty clinical preceptors who consistently provide outstanding clinical instruction in the clerkship setting for medical students at Pitt.
Congratulations to Susan M. Shea, PhD, who will receive funding from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health for her project, “Using Microfluidics to Identify Mechanisms of Platelet Dysfunction and Assess Therapeutic Efficacy in Traumatic Hemorrhage.”
Congratulations to Jason Sperry, MD, MPH, who has been elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI).
The ASCI, one of the oldest and most esteemed nonprofit medical honor societies in the US, is a vital organization focused on the special role that physician-scientists play in clinical care, research, and medical education, as well as their leadership roles in academic medicine and the life-sciences. The organization comprises over 3,000 physician-scientists from various medical specialties.
