That'll Do Pig: A Tour of Ongoing Resuscitation Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine

Presenter: Dr. David Salcido, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine

Dr. Salcido's lab focuses on exploring effectiveness and outcomes of resuscitation methods, particularly after cardiac arrest. Much of his work centers around a clinically-relevant pig-model of cardiac arrest and resuscitation. In his talk he will give a round-up of the research work that is ongoing in the emergency medicine department investigating post-arrest resuscitation.

Immunothrombosis: What Trauma-Induced Coagulopathy Taught Us About COVID-19 Therapies

Presenter: Dr. Matthew Neal

Dr. Neal's lab focuses on mechanisms of thrombosis and coagulopathy, especially after surgery and trauma. Recently he has become interested in immunothrombosis in a variety of pathologies, and is now helping lead a clinical trial investigating thrombotic aspects of COVID-19 disease. He will talk about these investigations in his talk.
